Governing Body
The City of Payne Springs is a Type “A” General Law municipality consisting of a Mayor and five City Council members. The City of Payne Springs City Council acts as the legislative branch of our government, as well as its policy-making body.
The Council looks to the city's goals, major projects and infrastructure improvements ranging from community growth to land use to finances and strategic planning. The Council's goal is to do the very best to represent their constituents after they've seen to the needs of the city as a whole.

Election Information
The City of Payne Springs conducts an annual General Election on the first Tuesday of November for purposes of electing its governing body.
The election day voting site is determined annually by the Henderson County Elections Administration.
- Even Numbered Years – The election is for One (1) Mayor and Two (2) Council Members, each for a term of two years.
- Odd Numbered Years – The election is for Three (3) Council Members, each for a term of two years.
